Top things to do this Easter

Derby Leisure & Culture has a packed schedule for families to enjoy over the Easter school holiday, which runs from Saturday 8 April to Sunday 23 April 2017.
We're offering half price racket sports between 8am and 4pm, giving families the chance to play a game of table tennis or badminton for half price on Monday 10 – Friday 14 and Monday 17 – Friday 21 April.
Those wishing to take up track cycling will be pleased to learn the popular family track cycling sessions will be available again on Monday 10, Tuesday 11, Friday 14, Monday 17, Tuesday 18 and Friday 21 April with prices from £20. No experience is needed; qualified coaches will provide advice and the correct equipment to enjoy this fantastic sport. Young people aged 9 to 15 years can take part in the youth beginner sessions on Monday 10, Tuesday 11, Friday 14, Monday 17, Tuesday 18 and Friday 21 April for £10.50, with no specialist equipment required. This is a great way to get into track cycling. Times for both of these activities can be found on our website.
We have much more to offer at our other leisure facilties as well. Queen’s Leisure Centre will be hosting pool parties for children to have fun with their friends and family. There will be music, floats and inflatables on Tuesday 11, Thursday 13, Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 April. Entry to the pool party is £4.10 .
For those who would like to learn to swim there will also be a 3 day course available for children to complete Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 on Tuesday 11 – Thursday 13 April. This is suitable for children aged 5 years and over. Swimmers looking to improve can enrol on the 3 day course to complete Stage 4, Stage 5 and Stage 6 on Tuesday 18 – Thursday 21 April. Each three day course costs £16.35 to attend.
At Springwood Leisure Centre, children can enjoy a giant games session with Jenga, Dominos, Connect 4, snakes and ladders, and more for children aged 4 to 10 years on Monday 10 and Monday 17 April at 1.30pm. This will cost £4.50 to attend.
Easter Cupcake Decorating will let mini bakers unleash their creativity in a special Easter themed activity for 5 to 11 year olds on Tuesday 11 and Tuesday 18 April at 10am, at a cost of £4.95 per child.
There will also be an Easter Bouncy Castle and Soft Play session for children up to 6 years old on Tuesday 11, Thursday 13, Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 April, which is priced at £4.00 and is an activity for parents to take part in. These sessions are taking place at 1pm.
Thrill seekers can also try out the child-friendly ninja warrior circuit, which is a great way to have fun and keep fit. There will be two sessions for each age group (5-11 years at 1.30pm and 11-16 years at 3pm) on Friday 14 and Friday 21 April to ensure all ages can enjoy getting involved for £5.00.

Are you a theatre enthusiast? Then you will be able to enjoy a family show at the Guildhall Theatre over the Easter holiday. Sid’s Show sees CBeebies’ Sid venture into a fish tank on an exciting and colourful underwater adventure, bubbling over with sea creatures, songs, stalagmites, stalactites and wave after wave of educational interaction. Sid’s Show will be performed on Monday 10 April at 11.30am and 2.30pm. T
For those looking for something different, there is Bad Guys, which follows Derek, Ernie & Dick, who are really bored of being good. Can the bumbling brothers learn how to stay out of jail and be real Bad Guys? Join CBeebies stars the Three Half Pints as they trip and stumble their way through a brand new comic misadventure, packed with songs, slapstick, silliness and accidental derring do. There will be a relaxed performance of the show at 4pm, which is specifically designed and adapted for customers with a wide range of disabilities and those on the autistic spectrum. Bad Guys will be performed on Wednesday 19 April.
