Over 60s can use the gym, do classes and go swimming for less with a Leisure Card that offers 40% discount on activities. Over 75s can use the gym, do classes and go swimming for just £1.20 from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and all weekend.

For just £3.50 people looking to get fit can enjoy the new Active Living sessions at Derby Arena and Springwood Leisure Centre. Every Monday at Derby Arena from 11am-12pm people can try out coached Walking Netball, open table tennis, badminton, pickleball and bowls. Every Monday at Springwood Leisure Centre people can try active fun including badminton, bowls and table tennis. These sessions are a great time to get to make friends and get fit, and both include light refreshments.

Walking Netball is a game designed for anyone to play, regardless of age or fitness. It is a slower version of the well-known game, and it provides the opportunity for women of all ages to have fun and get fit. Sessions are at Derby Arena every Monday from 11am-12pm

Swimming at Queen’s Leisure Centre gives over 50s the opportunity to stay fit and active at their own pace. From an easy morning swim in the Family Pool at a Public Swim session, to swimming at pace in the Gala Pool in a Lane Swim session, there’s something for everyone. For those looking for something more adventurous try the new inflatable Atlantis Splash Run course with grandchildren or friends.

For anyone looking to try something new, track cycling is the ultimate taster sport no matter what ability or age. Track Cycling taster sessions could be the springboard to discovering a new favourite sport.

We offer a range of golf facilities to suit all levels of play, including the 18-hole course at Allestree Golf Course and Markeaton Park’s Pitch and Putt. Golf lovers can play golf for less than £8 a week with the Unlimited Season ticket  at Allestree Golf Course. Those looking just to try out the sport can play a round of 9 holes at Markeaton Park for £6, or £10 for 18 holes at Allestree Golf Course. Queen’s Leisure Centre’s aqua classes are perfect for those with limited mobility, Aqua Fit is aerobics that is easy on your joints, and Aqua Jog uses water to improve stamina, style and muscle tone.

Anyone over 50 who enjoys running but wants somewhere safe to complete their distance can run on the Moorways Stadium floodlit running track. With a Run Pass runners can use the track unlimited for 3 months for just £30
