Derby Arena Reflects on Successful Christmas Toy Drive Supporting Children Across Derby
Thu 22 Jan 2026
Derby Arena is reflecting on the success of its recent Christmas toy drive, which helped bring festive joy to children and families across Derby.
The initiative was launched last month after Derby Arena staff discussed which charitable cause to support over the festive period. With a shared aim of ensuring the magic of Christmas reached children regardless of background or circumstance, the team agreed that a toy drive would have the greatest impact.
Working closely with Deborah Jones at Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance, Derby Arena was honoured to lead the campaign and coordinate the collection of donations. The response from the local community exceeded all expectations.
Support came from Derby Arena staff, Derby Active members, local businesses and members of the public, with several organisations delivering van-loads of toys collected through their own in-house initiatives. The generosity shown throughout the campaign was described by organisers as heart-warming.
All brand-new toys collected were donated directly to Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance, helping to top up Christmas and birthday gifts for children in need. Pre-loved toys were passed on to Derbyshire Toy Libraries, ensuring they will continue to bring joy to families throughout the year.
Derby Arena would like to thank UKWS Ltd and HW Martin Waste Ltd for their generous contributions, along with everyone who supported the initiative. Together, their efforts helped create many happy memories and smiles for children across Derby.
