We operate in line with the latest Protect UK guidance and maintain a robust, layered security approach to reflect current national standards and best practice.
- Trained staff: All our staff are fully trained in ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) awareness.
- Safety partners: We work closely with Derbyshire Constabulary, Showsec (our event security specialist), and local partners to ensure our practices remain robust and up to date.
- Layered security: Our systems include CCTV that provides continuous monitoring across key areas of the building.
- Preparedness: We maintain and regularly test robust incident response plans to ensure our teams can respond effectively to any emergency situation.

Security checks on arrival
Security checks are in place to maintain a safe environment and ensure the best possible experience for all visitors.

Tickets will be checked and scanned upon arrival.

For safety, staff may carry out spot checks on bags and individuals.

If you have a pacemaker or medical device and have been advised to avoid certain security checks (e.g., handheld security wands), please inform security staff immediately on approach. An alternative, comfortable search method will be used for your comfort and safety.
Bag and personal item policy
Please adhere strictly to this policy to assist with security checks and speed up entry.

Only small handbags or very small bags are permitted into the venue.

Maximum permitted size: 35cm x 40cm x 19cm.

Laptops and other large electronic devices are not permitted inside the venue for an event.

Larger bags cannot be brought into or stored at the venue.

There are no lockers or storage facilities available.

General COVID-19 precautions for all events
We work closely with the National Arenas Association and UK Theatre to ensure best practice and share ideas across venues throughout the UK.
We also work with Derby City Council Health and Safety advisors alongside the COVID-19 Safety Committee to ensure all our events are as safe as possible and successful.
