Young Riders and Family Track cycling

After School Track Cycling Club

Starting Thu 15 Jan 2026, Derby Arena is thrilled to launch its After School Track Cycling Club, offering an exciting new activity for young riders aged 9–16. This six-week program is the perfect opportunity for children to get on the world-class velodrome and build their cycling skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The sessions will run weekly, with two available one-hour slots: 3:30pm–4:30pm and 4:30pm–5:30pm. Each session is affordably priced at just £10.50 per person, which includes all necessary bike and equipment hire. For those looking to commit to the full program, a six-week block can be booked for £60.

Led by our dedicated track coach, these sessions follow a structured training plan focused on building confidence, refining technique, and developing essential track craft. Whether your child is brand new to track cycling or already an enthusiastic cyclist, this program provides a fantastic pathway for development, helping riders progress towards achieving their Stage 1 Accreditation or preparing them to join a local cycling club.

Given that spaces are limited, interested families are encouraged to book early to secure a spot for their young rider by ringing Derby Arena or visiting us in our center.

Balance Bikes

If your child is ready to learn to ride a balance bike, Derby Arena are hosting sessions to help your little one on their way to becoming an awesome cyclist.

The classes are for 18 months - 3 year olds where they will learn the basics of balancing, jumping, moving objects with fingers, hands and feet and stepping over objects. It's perfect for children just starting on balance bikes and wish to learn more control whilst having fun.
