About the Event
Following the successful National Clarion Track Championships last September, the event will be returning to Derby Arena for a second year.
The Clarion is one of Britain’s largest cycling clubs and national track championships. Riders will be competing for a number of prestigious club titles on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September, spectators are welcome on the day for a fee of £1.
The National Clarion Cycling Club has a long and prestigious history. Formed in 1895 after a group of likeminded individuals got together in Birmingham, the Club grew during the early 1900s with over 8000 members at one time, and with sections all over the UK. The Club now has over 1,600 members in over 30 sections, which makes it one of the biggest cycling clubs in the country.
With an unbroken history of cycling and a track racing heritage that goes back to the 1922 Workers Olympiad in Prague, the Clarion has always loved racing on the track as much as social cycling, as epitomised in its slogan - ‘fellowship is life’.
