September gym challenge
Thu 1 Sep 2016
It’s that time again when a new gym challenge is announced. I hope you are excited to push yourself further and give this gym challenge a go. This month’s gym challenge has been inspired by the Paralympic Games – GB Powerlifting.
What is the challenge?
This month’s challenge is powerlifting – recording a combined total (kg) for weighted squat, bench press and deadlift.
How do I do this challenge?
This challenge is designed for all abilities so don’t be afraid to give this challenge a go! Your Health and Wellbeing Advisors will be able to provide a training programme designed around improving strength in each lift. It is encouraged to undertake the challenge at the beginning of the month and then again at the end of the month to gauge improvements in your strength and fitness.
Remember that you can undertake this challenge across separate days.
How do I record my results?
Your Health and Wellbeing Advisor will be able to record the combined total weight (kg) for you.
How do I take part in this challenge?
Speak to a Health and Wellbeing Advisor when you are ready to take part in the challenge and they will be able to advise you on the best technique and correct your posture. Remember that you can attempt this challenge as many times as you like, just ask the Health and Wellbeing Advisor to record your combined total weight lifted.
We would really like to encourage each and every one of you to give this challenge a go. Remember that our Health and Wellbeing Advisors are always on hand to answer any questions that you may have.
