Meet Lou Newton, Derby Arena's New Group Exercise Coordinator
Fri 30 Aug 2019
Our popular group exercise programme at Derby Arena has got a new person at the helm. Lou Newton has recently started her new role as our Group Exercise Coordinator.
Let's find out a bit more about her:
"Hi, my name’s Lou and although I’m fairly new here at Derby Arena, I have been in the fitness industry for well over 25 years.
I started at a small, local gym in Belper and progressed to begin my career in teaching fitness classes and have never looked back since.
I am qualified in Les Mills Body Combat, Body Attack, Body Balance, RPM, Body Step, CXWorks but also teach a wide variety of free style classes.
I am trained as a Level 4 instructor and worked for around 15 years as a Health referral coordinator, working closely with clients with a wide variety of health issues including cardiac rehab, obesity and mental health problems.
I have had the privilege of working alongside with some of the top instructors around, and my aim is to get as many of them as possible to join our team here.
My passions include Garbage (the band, not rubbish) Texas, teaching the magic of fitness, seeing the impact we, as instructors, can make in your lives.
My aim, with the help of you, the customers, is to make Derby Arena THE place to participate in all your fitness goals.
I look forward to meeting you all"
