We have opportunity to take space on our trackside boards for the next 12 months.
This is an initial one-off opportunity. Further advertising and sponsorship opportunities are yet to be released.
Derby Arena's first year
In its first 12 months of opening, Derby Arena had over 100,000 gym and class attendances, 14,000 track cycling attendances, 1700 gym members and 3800 track cycling members. The track has been used by 13 Olympic medallists and 6 Commonwealth medallists. With a total of 300,000 visitors in its first year, since then this has only grown and gone from strength to strength.
We’ve hosted an array of major events including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, televised National Badminton League, Jimmy Carr, Professor Brian Cox, Catfish and the Bottlemen, televised Championship Boxing, Revolution Cycling Series, Junior British League Table Tennis, BBC East Midlands Children in Need, National Taekwondo Championships, The University of Derby Graduations and many more.
In August 2016, the Arena hosted Round 1 of the Revolution Cycling Series which also served as a qualifying event for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. A host of top riders from around the world competed at the event that took place over three days.
About Derby Arena, Sir Bradley Wiggins, said at the time:
“It’s put the track on the map world-wide and brought some attention to it, so I think there will be more world record attempts here in the future.”
“It’s just brilliant. You don’t get to come to this part of the world very often and it’s just nice to come to another world-class velodrome and we have produced a world-class time”
Ed Clancy said
“This area of the country has been missing out and this is a proper good facility.”
The Arena was designed to provide fantastic sport facilities to promote physical activity in the city and across the region. When talking about it, Hayley Lever, Director of Derbyshire Sport, said:
“At Derbyshire Sport we are seeing growing evidence of the impact that Derby Arena is having as a venue and as part of the identity of the region. When visiting the Arena for events, activities and meetings, I often stand back and reflect on the sheer diversity of activities taking place, for people of all abilities and ages. The venue works for those who are just getting into physical activity in the gym, classes, playing badminton and other sports, right up to the British Para-cycling team and elite performers who you can rub shoulders with in the Arena café.“
This opportunity is for organisations to purchase advertising space for track-side boards around the Arena’s velodrome track. The railing around the top of the track can accommodate 2.44m x 0.6m boards, thereby promoting your organisation to all those who attend the Arena for events, to play sport on the infield, race the track or use the gym, classes and conferencing facilities.
The cost is £2000 plus VAT per board, plus design and production costs of the boards are at the organisation's own cost. This is for a 12 month rental period.
Further terms and conditions will take the form of a licence agreement, to be signed by both parties.
